Abstract

Hypertension is one of the biggest risk factors for cardiovascular disease that it can cause myocardial infarction, stroke, kidney failure and death if not treated quickly. According to WHO data, hypertension sufferers have increased from 839 million people in 2018. Meanwhile, medical record data obtained from the Kumun Health Center, the number of patients affected by hypertension from 2020 was 321 cases, an increase in 2021, namely 395 cases. The purpose of this research was to find out the application of red dragon fruit juice therapy to the risk of decreasing cardiac output in hypertensive patients in the working area of ​​the Kumun Public Health Center. The research method used was Pre Experiment with a one group pre test-post test design approach. The results of this study showed a decrease in blood pressure before being given red dragon fruit juice and after being given red dragon fruit juice for three consecutive days in the morning and evening. Where the average before being given systolic 147.50 mmHg and diastolic 87.50 mmHg while after being given systolic 140.50 mmHg and diastolic 85.00 mmHg. The conclusion is that there is a significant effect between the application of red dragon fruit juice therapy on the risk of decreased cardiac output in hypertensive patients.
