HUBUNGAN PERAN KELUARGA DALAM MENINGKATKAN KEPATUHAN PASIEN DENGAN TERAPI OBAT PADA PASIEN TUBERKULOSIS PARU DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS SUNGAI LIUK

Abstract

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), in 2022, tuberculosis will remain one of the deadliest infectious diseases in the world. Every day, more than 4100 people lose their lives to tuberculosis and nearly 28 000 people fall ill with this preventable and curable disease. This research aims to determine the relationship between the role of the family in increasing patient compliance with drug therapy in pulmonary tuberculosis patients at the Sungai Liuk Community Health Center, Sungai Penuh City in 2024. This type of research is quantitative and analytical with a cross-sectional study approach. The sampling technique used in this research was the Total Sampling technique. The population in this study were all families of patients who had pulmonary tuberculosis in the Sungai Liuk Community Health Center, Sungai Penuh City in 2023, totaling 51 people with a sample of 51 people. The location of this research was carried out at the Sungai Liuk Community Health Center, Sungai Penuh City, carried out in January-June 2024. The results showed that more than half of the 27 (57.9%) respondents had poor family roles, more than half of the 28 (54.9%) ) respondents with poor patient compliance with drug therapy in pulmonary tuberculosis patients with statistical test results (Chi-Square) obtained p-value 0.000. The conclusion of the research shows that there is a relationship between the role of the family in increasing patient compliance with drug therapy in pulmonary tuberculosis patients at the Sungai Liuk Community Health Center, Sungai Penuh City in 2024. The researchers' suggestions from the research results can be applied in daily nursing practice, such as providing health education regarding patient compliance. with drug therapy in pulmonary tuberculosis patients..
